A challenging project saw a transformer transported from Antwerp to Sankt Vith (B) and transhipped to Vianden (L) for final delivery.
The dimensions on the first leg of the journey from Antwerp to Sankt Vith were a length of 33 metres, a width of 3.5 metres and a height of 4.5 metres, with a total weight of 150 tonnes (4+4+FB+6). The final dimensions from Sankt Vith to Vianden were 25 x 4 x 5,2 metres (LxWxH), with a weight of 145 tonnes (4+10).
At its destination, the transformer was unloaded and then pushed through an approx. 500 metre long tunnel to its foundation.
