Last week we were able to execute an unusual project in Olen (B) involving water transportation, transshipment in the inland port of Geel and, of course, road haulage.
We used various combinations of vehicles to transport a V162, including a blade lifter with 16 axle lines for the 81.1 m long and 4.5 m wide rotor blades.
To transport the tower, whose individual segments weigh up to 84 tonnes and measure up to 6.3 metres in diameter, we used combinations of 9, 10 or 12 axle lines with a transport height of 7.2 metres in some cases.
The nacelle was transported with a specially designed tower adapter system.
